We wouldn’t be able to continue our work without the support of volunteers. There are many volunteer roles at Together, all of them rewarding and all offering the opportunity to help people lead more fulfilling lives or to gain valuable experience in the mental health sector.

Become a mental health volunteer with Together

For example, you could offer your time to one of our Your Way services. This might involve helping organise activities or offering one-to-one support to someone.

We also offer opportunities to gain experience in one of our offices, and we welcome help with setting up and running events or fundraising.

Volunteering can be an exciting, growing, enjoyable experience. It is truly gratifying to serve a cause, practice one’s ideals, work with people, solve problems, see benefits, and know one had a hand in them.” Harriet Naylor, pioneer in the development of volunteer programme management.

Volunteering for users of Together’s services

We are committed to giving opportunities to users of our services, too. If you are a service user, you may be able to sit on interview panels or take part in focus groups and steering groups that influence the way Together is run.

You could also draw on your own experiences to become a peer supporter. Working supportively with others with mental health issues is a powerful way to improve your confidence, learn new skills and to get your voices heard. For more information about peer support at Together please contact your local Peer Support Coordinator.

Working alongside people in similar situations made me feel less alone. Being involved with Together has helped me gain the confidence to move on with my life and look forward rather than backwards. I now live in my own flat. I receive direct payments and choose to stay with Together.” Together volunteer

Please fill in our volunteer enquiry form or contact us directly if you’d like to become a mental health volunteer with Together. Please note that we only have volunteering opportunities in England – use our service finder to see if we have a service near you.
